New Skincare I’ve Been Loving

Hi Beauties,

Long time no chat. Didn’t realise it would be so long between blog posts- whoops! Anyway decided I should do a new blog post since I just paid to renew my blog subscription.

Over the past couple of weeks/ months I’ve been lucky enough to trial out some new release skincare products and actually have been loving them. So I thought I better actually tell you about these new products and why I’ve been loving them.

Kiehls’ Vital Skin-Strengthening Hyaluronic Acid Super Serum* – $84

Basically its a hydrating serum- don’t let the product name confuse you. Click on the link if you want to find out more technical information about the serum.

Anyway I’ve been using this serum for more than 6 weeks. I slowly introduced it every second night before moisturising. One of my pet peeves about this product is that on the packaging it actually doesn’t say whether to apply it morning or night and how much. So I apply one pump which is about a pea size. The texture is quite liquidy and spreads and absorbsrachel quickly into the skin.

Back to the serum itself, I didn’t expect much but must admit within the first week my skin looked more radiant. With continuous use my skin looked really good- radiant and hydrated with no break outs. I started to use it morning and night, I don’t think you can really overuse this serum. I find its better in the morning as its leaves your skin looking instantly glowy. I didn’t take any before and after photos but I’ll link and IGTV below so you can see my natural skin with this serum applied.

Recreation Beauty VIBRANT SKIN face oil with Bakuchiol, Sea Greens and Antioxidants* – $96

Another product I didn’t expect much from but have been pleasantly surprised by. I’m really fussy with face oils, I don’t like anything too heavy on my skin. While this is a heavier oil it absorbs really quickly into the skin.

The packaging says to use this in the morning however I prefer my oils in the evening. I have used it occasionally in the morning and it works perfectly fine so you do you. It says to use 3 – 8 drops which personally I found to be quite a lot. I’ve been using 3 drops at night which I find is a lot, but like I said it absorbs quickly into the skin. I can’t imagine anyone actually needing 8 drops but you do you. Anyway this is a beautiful face oil that leaves my skin looking radiant in the morning. Apologies I can’t tell you more about the ingredients I threw out the box and the website doesn’t specify all the ingredients. But I think Rosehip Oil is one of the main ingredients.

Olay Eyes Retinol 24 Night Eye Cream* – $59.99

I’m very particular with retinol products and like to slowly introduce them into my skincare routine to ensure I don’t overdo it and dry out my skin. When the new Olay Retinol 24 range was introduced I was really curious as it promised hydration as well which is so hard to do with retinol products.

I decided to introduce the eye cream every second to third night when I use my retinol serum. The cream is a lovely light creamy texture that absorbs quickly into the skin. You really don’t need much at all. The first morning after using this eye cream I noticed my under eye area was noticeably firmer and less dark. Now after a few weeks of using this eye cream I can truly see its made a difference. Its not a miracle worker but sure is helping prevent the signs of aging.
