Product Empties: April

Hello beauties,

Another month, another round of empties. This month’s a bit different as I started off by clearing out some old and unloved items from my beauty collection. Below is a stack of lip products that I’ve decided to throw away as I don’t use them. Not a negative, some are really good but I just don’t use them.

Wella SP Colour Save Conditioner

I’ve repurchased this conditioner multiple times, not because I think its amazing but because my hairdresser recommended it. Don’t think its anything special and will try something new.

Sephora Argan Hand Mask*

The packaging of the hand mask is amazing! No leakage and easy to use. I found that it did hydrate my hands but at the same time wasn’t anything special. Might try again before my wedding…

Estee Lauder DayWear BB Cream

One of the best BB Creams I’ve ever tried but its a tad light so its time to bin it. Really good coverage and lasts well on oily skin. I got my girlfriend hooked on it and she swears by it as her every day foundation.

Skincare Prep Ahead of the Festive Season

Hello beauties,

With the festive season literally upon us and with party after party, I wanted to share with you how I get my skin into shape ahead of all the celebrations.

In addition to doing a face mask, make sure you are regularly exfoliating your face. Personally, I don’t like physical exfoliants as I find them too harsh. I prefer a chemical exfoliant that will remove all the dead skin cells and will leave me with glowy skin. I recommend Alpha H Liquid Gold* as the results are instant!

Dupe Alert: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair vs. Lancome Advanced Génifique

Hello beauties,

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is a beauty cult favourite and a big favourite of mine. What’s interesting is the Lancome Advanced Génifique* is also a cult favourite amongst beauty bloggers, so much so that they have two serums in the range; one to target brightening and this one is more targeted at anti-aging. But what’s the difference between the two, they seem so similar…

Processed with Snapseed.

What Estee Lauder says about the Advanced Night Repair Serum, “reveal a smoother, more radiant, younger look. Wake up to more beautiful skin every day. Tested and proven: Advanced Night Repair dramatically reduces the look of all key signs of ageing.”

Overall Thoughts on the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum:

  • $95 for 30ml
  • Easy to use dropper
  • The texture is a little gluggy and thick, not too watery
  • No distinct smell
  • Absorbs nicely into the skin and a perfect base for my evening moisturiser
  • I find this adds the perfect amount of hydration and improves the overall look and feel of my skin
  • I haven’t noticed the anti-ageing benefits as I’m only 26…..
